Rebeckah Ellinghuysen

Rebeckah Ellinghuysen, MA, was raised in an Evangelical Christian church and earned a Bachelor of Theology from Summit Bible College and then studied clinical counseling, earning a Master of Arts from Colorado Theological Seminary. She served overseas as a missionary to the West Bank of Israel and Dominican Republic, returning stateside in 2007. Ellinghuysen transplanted into the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod in 2009.

She spent several years working for community-based programs in Wisconsin and Minnesota, as a family therapist, mental health practitioner, and home visitor, serving at-risk families and youth involved with Child Protective Services. In 2017, she stepped away from this intense work due to her health. Ellinghuysen has served on staff with her local congregation since 2018.

Ellinghuysen is an experienced speaker and writer. Her book "Pruning: Clinging to the Vine Amidst the Pain" was published in 2025. She also writes devotions for Light for Parents, a web-based ministry that provides Christian encouragement and support for parents of children with extraordinary needs. See Lightforparents.com

She is married to Alex, whom she describes as her personal hero and best friend. Their blended family consists of three wonderful adult sons, a daughter-in-law, and a dearly loved granddaughter.
